We all know what brush to use for eye shadow what brush for foundation but do you all know how to Cleaning your make up brushes is something that should be part of your beauty routine. When you use your brushes all dirt, oil, makeup and even bacteria can get caught up in all the bristles of the brush. While this seems like something that can be put off, dirty brushes can lead up to clogged up pores, breakouts and even infections. Not mentioning that cleaning your make up brushes can make them last longer after all that money spent on them.So learning how to clean the brushes can save having to spend any more money luckily its quick, cheap and easy to clean.
You should throughly wash your makeup brushes once a week and deep clean and remember after doing this they will take 3-4 hours to dry so i recomend cleaning them once youve done your make up.As during the week they start to get grotty, i just take my daily brush cleanser once a day;personally i use elf daily brush cleaner and just spritz it onto my brushes after use just to keep them clean until the next deep clean.
Now how i throughly clean my makeup brushes..
You will need
-Baby shampoo
-Olive Oil
-A towel
-A bowl
1-Start by running your brushes under lukewarm water and just rinsing out any residual make up. Remember to focus on the bristles and to face your brush down to stop water from getting inside the brush and loosening the glue
2-Pour a little bit of olive oil into the bowl and just get the bristles covered in oil. This is to break up the make up so nothing is left again remember to keep your brush face down
3- Rinse the brush out in luke warm water
4- Squirt the shampoo into your hand and swirl the brush around to work up a lather
5-Again Rinse under tap getting beetween bristles (you may repeat the shampoo bit if you still have a little bit of oil on the brush)
6-Dry with a towel while reshaping the bristles
7 roll a towel at one end to make a elevates surface and point brush down (look at the photo for this)
Roll towl up to create a elevated surface so water drain out |
And thats it sparking clean brushes, its worth saying there are special brush cleaners on the market but the oil and baby shampoo will do just the same sometimes even better. Do remember to use a baby shampoo though as other shampoo will be too harsh on the bristles. Now just enjoy using clean brushes
