Cleaning my makeup brushes

We all know what brush to use for eye shadow what brush for foundation but do you all know how to Cleaning your make up brushes is something that should be part of your beauty routine. When you use your brushes all dirt, oil, makeup and even bacteria can get caught up in all the bristles of the brush. While this seems like something that can be put off, dirty brushes can lead up to clogged up pores, breakouts and even infections. Not mentioning that cleaning your make up brushes can make them last longer after all that money spent on them.So learning how to clean the brushes can save having to spend any more money luckily its quick, cheap and easy to clean.

You should throughly wash your makeup brushes once a week and deep clean and remember after doing this they will take 3-4 hours to dry so i recomend cleaning them once youve done your make up.As during the week they start to get grotty, i just take my daily brush cleanser once a day;personally i use elf daily brush cleaner and just spritz it onto my brushes after use just to keep them clean until the next deep clean.

Now how i throughly clean my makeup brushes..
You will need

-Baby shampoo
-Olive Oil
-A towel
Remember to face the brush downwards
-A sink
-A bowl

1-Start by running your brushes under lukewarm water and just rinsing out any residual make up. Remember to focus on the bristles and to face your brush down to stop water from getting inside the brush and loosening the glue

2-Pour a little bit of olive oil into the bowl and just get the bristles covered in oil. This is to break up the make up so nothing is left again remember to keep your brush face down

3- Rinse the brush out in luke warm water

4- Squirt the shampoo into your hand and swirl the brush around to work up a lather

5-Again Rinse under tap getting beetween bristles (you may repeat the shampoo bit
if you still have a little bit of oil on the brush)

6-Dry with a towel while reshaping the bristles

7 roll a towel at one end to make a elevates surface and point brush down (look at the photo for this)

Roll towl up to create a elevated surface so water drain out

And thats it sparking clean brushes, its worth saying there are special brush cleaners on the market but the oil and baby shampoo will do just the same sometimes even better. Do remember to use a baby shampoo though as other shampoo will be too harsh on the bristles. Now just enjoy using clean brushes

Elf Set And Mist Review

Hello Beautys..

Today ive decided to do a review on the elf set & mist also knows as a dupe of the mac studio fix+. Not long ago i recieved the spray, id been waiting for it for so long and it finally arrived. For just £3.95 for 2.02oz  I think its a absolute bargain.

The Website Says-

Wish you could have a product for your makeup like Hairspray is for your hair? Well…keep your makeup staying in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold with our new Makeup Mist & Set. The invigorating mist moisturizes and soothes the skin with key ingredients Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E. The lightweight, comfortable and alcohol free formula improves makeup wearability and prevents color from running or fading.
  • Spray on after makeup application to set makeup in place or during the day for a quick touchup to refresh.
  • After you have applied your makeup spray a light mist 12-16 inches from your face with eyes closed to set your makeup in place or use for a quick touchup throughout the day to refresh your makeup.
  • Let it dry naturally or blot with a tissue to help speed dry.

Ingredients-

Water (Aqua), AMP-Acrylates/Allyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice, Green Tea (Camelia Sinensis) Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vc), Tocophryl Acetate (Ve) Retinyl Acytate (Va), Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben.

I will point out that the ingredients are very very similar to the ingredients in mac studio fix+ However im not too sure about all the parabens, but thats soon made up knowing its animal cruelty free always a bonus.

Packaging-

In a dark almost black bottle with a spray lid. Im not to sure on the way it dispensis the spray sometimes it abit uneven but i know many people got around this problem by just pouring it into there empty mac studio fix+ bottle and they say it works better. I also heard that the smell is not to some people taste but i feel that i cant really smell much and it quickly drys anyway so the smell just disapears.

Best ways to use the spray with foundation and powders-

I usually apply my primer, foundation(no7 beautifully matte), concealer, powder and then i use the spray. Make sure before you use the spray hold it far away or your face just gets too wet. Yet still spray liberaly all over your face, mostly in your t-zone if its oily as this is were the makeup is most likely to wear off. I can find sometimes my face looks a little dull and boring so just spritzing this will give me more of a glowy look. Also it can be used on hot summer days just for a little cool and refresh.

Best way to use e.l.f. Studio Makeup Mist & Set with eyeshadow-

My favourite way to use e.l.f makeup mist and set is to dampen a eyeshadow brush with the mist then dip your eye shadow brush in any eye shadow loose pigments, baked eyeshadows, mineralized eyeshadows or really glittery eyeshadow. Then pat the eye shadow across my eyelid. This gived a more vibrant longer lasting eye shadow giving the look of a foiled eye shadow.
